Safe Work Australia Worker Fatalities Report 2014

Safe Work Australia released the 2014 worker fatalities report that states 185 Australian workers had been killed during 2014 while working. Though there is a decrease in numbers as compared to the previous year but still this is quite an alarming figure that needs to be taken care of.
Transport, postal and warehousing industry tops the chart, recording the highest number of deaths (47), with agriculture, forestry and fishing industry on second with a narrow margin (46). Construction industry reported 29 deaths, third highest with Mining at fourth recording 15 deaths.
As per the statistics, most safest industries with no deaths are education & training, financial & insurance sector, information media & telco, professional, scientific & technical services and the last, retail trade.
