The holidays are fast approaching, and if you’re looking for a way to thank your staff in addition to the standard gift card or bottle of wine this Christmas season, look no further! If you work in an industrial or warehouse setting, you can give your staff materials handling products that will make their lives a whole lot easier; in addition to making your workplace more productive and safer.

Lifting Slings

Lifting slings are light and flexible polyester flat rope that allows staff to lift heavier loads by hand, or attached to a crane or lift. Lifting slings also have handles at each end, which facilitates sharing the load between two or more lifters. Webbing slings can also help with carrying bulky or oversized equipment such as furniture without damaging the load carried. Hand-carry slings can bear 100kg or more – with some of the slings for mechanical lifters topping out at 10,000kg! Either way, they can make the lives of your staff members easier and can relieve pressure from their backs and joints.

Pallet Lifters

Pallet lifters or positioners aim to reduce or eliminate the need for bending or lifting when loading or moving pallets. Many pallet lifters are spring loaded or scissor lifts, which allows access to storage without manually lifting the pallet on to the ground, or vice versa. It also speeds up transfer of pallets to and from shelves and the stockroom floor.

Bin Lifters

Bin lifters or bin tippers are a lifesaver – sometimes literally – when it comes to waste disposal. A bin lifter will automatically hoist and tip a wheelie bin’s contents into a skip or dumper without user intervention. Press a button and the bin tipper does its job. Your business can also attach tipper bins to forklifts for larger applications. Better yet, some bin lifters are solar powered – so they practically pay for themselves!

Anti-Fatigue Matting

Whether you work in commercial, industrial, or retail, if you’re on your feet all day, anti-fatigue matting is a must. Matting can reduce wear and tear on feet and joints, preventing trips to the physio for your staff. Anti-fatigue matting can also include drainage, ideal for food manufacturing, or anti-static/electrical matting for electronics or electrical work. Mats are engineered to stay in one spot, even on painted or polished floors. They provide comfort and safety for your staff all year round.

Lockers

We’ve talked about lockers being a boon to worker privacy and peace of mind previously in our blog post Why Your Workplace Needs Lockers. Installing lockers has a variety of different benefits. Lockers reduce clutter around the workplace, give your staff a place to store their belongings, store clothes for after their shift, and give them a sense of ownership and pride in the workplace – a little place to call their own.
