5S is a method of workplace organisation that is founded on five principles: seiri, seiton, seisou, seiketsu, and, shitsuke. These are translated into sort, set in order, shine, standardise, and sustain. The list is designed to enhance workplace efficiency by standardising and streamlining work habits. 5S was founded in Japan and is credited with pioneering “Just In Time” manufacturing.This blog post will look at seiri and seiton: sort and set in order. Some businesses combine seiri and seiton, or seiton and seisou.
